Thanks for the compliments. I believe this is your brush. The knot is a two-band badger. It is one of my favorites. It is 24mm at the base and 53mm loft. Thats Sir Jay, you are the Man! RE: The Seinfeld thread (or the thread about nothing) - TroutWhisperer - 02-19-2021 It's been a while since I've checked in with my single-edge friends, but I see Jayaruh is still hitting home runs and @birdlives is a recent beneficiary of that work. Wchnu, people in the corporate world have a habit of taking for granted all the great things a man does for them, then lower the boom for even a perceived mistake. I hope you find a better position and that your honor and character put them to shame, Fuzzy. RE: The Seinfeld thread (or the thread about nothing) - Ordinaryshaver - 02-20-2021 Just checking in. Things have been "odd" around here. Winter weather and snow, and ice and sleet.... Doing well, all things considered. We here in Louisiana had some interesting times with it as well, although it hasn't been nearly as bad here as it was there. My weirdest story was a house fire in our Parish....we had 2 fire trucks (a pumper which holds 1,000 gallons of water and a tanker which holds 1,500 gallons) and Acadian (our ambulance company) on scene and just idling. The roads are typically a bit bowed to drain the rain off to the ditches on each side. The road was glare ice, the fire trucks were pumping water (the pumper is used to fight the fire and it nurses off the tanker), and the ambulance is there to support us firefighters. We were busy fighting the fire when someone noticed that all three vehicles were sliding off the road and into the ditch. Apparently the vibrations of the vehicles idling were enough to get them moving and ultimately sliding. We were able to get them out by spraying water to melt the ice on the road so that the tires could get purchase. The 2 structure fires almost paled in experience to dealing with the motor vehicle accidents and medical calls. I went on multiple rescue calls where 80+ year olds were without heat -- I could barely tell the temperature difference between the outside and the inside. It's been a long time since I've worked a 24+ hour shift where you don't have time for a nap. RE: The Seinfeld thread (or the thread about nothing) - ShadowsDad - 02-20-2021 I've heard quite a few stories and nothing about it sounded good. What to us in the north is just something to deal with, no big deal, is life threatening for you folks. Are you pulling out of it now? Things coming back to normal? RE: The Seinfeld thread (or the thread about nothing) - Flintstone - 02-21-2021 I can't speak for Texas, but Louisiana is on the mend. Sun was out and temps in the 40's. We're already getting that Northern mindset -- ordinarily 40's are pretty "brisk feeling", but today it felt like swimsuit weather compared to the last few days. Other then still not back to work. We have extended periods of power out at times with hurricane season. But that is usually not as cold. RE: The Seinfeld thread (or the thread about nothing) - Wchnu - 02-21-2021 Going stir crazy hanging at the Hutch. Gotta love Waffle House for a quick get away. This one is across the river from Baton Rouge. It has been a favorite of mine for years. |
