RE: SOTD September 2021 - Old Sarge - 09-19-2021

Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Hot Towel, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Stoll Chrome Steel Lather Catcher
Blade: Treet (2)
Brush: Vulfix 374 Super Badger
Soap: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
Post: Alum Block, Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel, Clubman Pinaud A/S, Bulldog Original Moisturizer

Wanted to have my first Lather Catcher Sunday Shave. I've hatched a new plan where I'm going to worry less about the outcome of the shave and more on minimizing irritation which will hopefully allow for more frequent shaving. Perhaps watching Fuzzy's videos is sinking in! Big Grin

Two passes (WTG, XTG), I bailed on the LC on the goatee area for an unmentionable. It was a much different shave than my first SE shave with the Gem Jr., a bit more tugging. I know one big difference is no top cap on the LC vs. the Gem to aid in getting the angle correct. It will take some time. Overall, the goal of minimal irritation and no bleeding was met.

Included a shot of the Stoll Chrome Steel in the case. The set includes the stropping attachment that jams into the bottom of the handle and four blades. This was found in the wild at a local antique store and is one of the main reasons I'm here posting today, so for that I'm grateful!

PS...wasn't sure were exactly to post this, SOTD vs. the two different posts in The Clan of the Catchers Forum. Set me straight and I'll get it right the next time! Next stop...Micromatic Monday!

Menthol Monday's Shave
[Image: zcws.jpg]

Cold Water Rinse
Tea Tree Body Bar
SlimGem Silvertip Badger
GEM Damaskeene
Personna GEM SS PTFE
CWR
Osage Rub

The Tea Tree Body Bar lathered well with SlimGem Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the GEM Damaskeene with a Personna GEM SS PTFE gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

That is a spectacular looking set. That style case is one of the few cases I really want. I have an English ER peerless and love it but have not seen one in that set before.
