RE: The Seinfeld thread (or the thread about nothing) - Old Sarge - 09-28-2021 I hate Bradford pear trees! ![]() When we moved into our home in 2004, there were five Bradford pear trees on the lot. They have such a bad reputation for splitting, so as they got bigger I just trimmed them up higher and higher turning them into big palm trees of sort! Maybe 5-7 years back, most of one split off so I took that one down. I really want to take them all down, but the wife likes the white flowers in the spring.I looked out the front of the house this morning and a pretty hefty limb had come down, narrowly missing my neighbors large Japanese maple tree. Y'all can guess what I've been up to this morning! Probably the most manly thing I'll do all week, running a chainsaw! The one good thing is that we bought a home that was on a fairway of a golf course, which closed down in 2009. The course is overgrown and makes for a great place to "store" downed limbs!!!

I live in a neighborhood. Last year I sold the 12 acres and a 3500 square foot house. I did give the Massey to my daughter. That said , I’ve got more tools than I need including a 20 inch bar stihl . Snooty snooty! ![]() Yeah, once they get over ten feet cut 'em down, dangerous bastages,... and those pretty white flowers stink. If you have a way to turn some into boards the wood is kind of pretty, but you have to stack and sticker and seal the ends or they'll split into kindling pretty quick. It wasn’t the first time. Nope, in the article he says it happens on a two year cycle. Says he was away on a four-day trip. He has other cars parked closer to the tree, but the squirrel digs the truck...without the digging!

RE: The Seinfeld thread (or the thread about nothing) - GAW9576 - 09-30-2021 (09-30-2021, 10:12 AM)Old Sarge Wrote: A squirrel hid thousands of walnuts under the hood of a man’s truck. It wasn’t the first time. At our old house we had a squirrel that would store nuts in the little shed out back where I kept the push lawn mower. I didn't really have an issue with him because he didn't bother anything else and he actually had the nuts fairly well organized in buckets and old coffee cans that were in there. My wife and I used to joke and say I guess we can tolerate an organized squirrel.
