No experience honing or have tools for it. Using original rusted one for sizing a modern blade.

I picked up this handle from Russia via ETSY. Turned from bog oak, apparently oak pulled from peat bogs where it has been naturally preserved and stained for hundreds of years.
I just set this Yaqi boar knot in it. Photo doesn't do it justice, l'm very pleased with it.

Actually soapy water cleaned it and tried but can't get it to hold it securely against the stops without falling so I guess it'll get thrown out.........................I just hate to throw it out.....

Is it because of the spring or the stops worn out? If it is the stops. That is a relatively easy fix. I will try to fix if yoou want.
