Is it because of the spring or the stops worn out?  If it is the stops. That is a relatively easy fix. I will try to fix if yoou want.

Stops, That's a nice gesture but I have to question your sanity and mine given it's worth and the cost of shipping. I have the same razor cased and in near mint condition  Big Grin

you can do it if you can solder. I fixed an 1887 Kampfe that way. it works fine.

Tom, as soon as you said that I figured a little solder and told the wife I may try it. It is missing the safety bar to flip over on it too......The eye rolls have started but I'm used to them  Big Grin

You do not need the bar. they don't do anything other than keep your skin slightly away from the blade face. Check out you other one.  the spring and stops do all of the holding.

True and I may do it for fun eventually but if you had your choice, which would you shave with ? Cool

I don't believe it is supposed to have a safety bar like that.

If you compare the 2 in my pic they are identical down to the pin to hold the bar that's missing. Yours is another model with the guides on the sides too. Study the 2 in my pic and compare and you'll see. By the way, Nice Gem you have there Cool
