Yep the chicory and coffee is a New Orleans thing. Cafe DuMonde is famous for it. I like a brand called French Market for that also. Community Coffee has  pretty good blend.

Actually she didn't put up any fuss at all. I told her I added to the cart to check it out. She asked what it was and I gave a brief description and said one of the guy Sothern Brethren on the forums suggested it. I ordered 3 different after shaves and the coffee. Can't wait to try them all, individually of course.

I bet a splash of Tabac or Old Spice could help some of the cheaper coffee brands.

The coffee came yesterday and I'm drinking my first cup of it right now. It has a different flavor that right now I can only pin down as kind of peppery and it's a little more bitter than what I usually drink. It's not at all bad but different enough that I'm not sure yet if it's good. A few days and I should be able to decide.
