It has a different flavor that right now I can only pin down as kind of peppery and it's a little more bitter than what I usually drink. It's not at all bad but different enough that I'm not sure yet if it's good. A few days and I should be able to decide. It's growing on me already. I've always liked peppery so it wasn't hard to adjust to. I've actually put turmeric and black pepper in my coffee with some coconut oil, black strap molasses and a few other things. It's supposed to be really healthy. When I got the ratios right it was also really good tasting. It will grow on you I hope. If not you did not waste too much on it!! Ahhh the ole blackstrap. I am in the heart of sugar cane country here you know. One of my earliest memories is sitting in a crop duster that my dad was flying not too far from here. Most of what he was doing at the time was with sugar cane. I love the blackstrap on biscuits!! RE: Cold Water vs. Warm Water Shaving - mrconklin - 02-25-2022 Warm shave, cool rinse in winter, cold rinse in summer. RE: Cold Water vs. Warm Water Shaving - Wchnu - 02-26-2022 Glad to see warm water ahead!! The filling is mostly molasses. I can't remember if it's black strap or another variety. I don't think I have had that pie I am going to look it up though and see if I have had something similar. That pie is popular in Pennsylvania. But I'm sure it's not completely isolated to there. Last year we had a potluck at our home school group were the kids researched one of the states and wrote about some interesting history there then brought in a dish to pass that was popular there. That's how we learned about it. My wife made something like 4 pies. |
