Firm Blade - efsk - 07-11-2020 One of the weirdest razors I know of is this Firm Blade. Apparently based in Portland, 4913 SE Powell Blvd somewhere around 1945, it has a wooden egg for a handle and uses a half DE blade. Apparently there's a version without wooden knob, and I've seen a pic of one with a different knob. RE: Firm Blade - Jayaruh - 07-11-2020 Load a blade in that bad boy. RE: Firm Blade - riverrun - 07-11-2020 There was, of course, a patent for the "Firm Blade": https://razors.click/patents/US2421205/ RE: Firm Blade - GAW9576 - 07-12-2020 (07-11-2020, 07:48 PM)efsk Wrote: One of the weirdest razors I know of is this Firm Blade. Whenever I saw them I wasn't sure because of the curved blade. I bet it would work good on certain areas of the neck. Now that I know it takes a half DE mabey I'll pick one up if I see a good deal on one. Is the one pictured yours? If so do you use it? This is one of mine, I have two: bought another one recently that had silverplating intact. Haven't yet tried either of them, although I do intend to do so at some point. I too look forward to your thoughts on the shave performance once you give it a try. RE: Firm Blade - efsk - 07-15-2020 Alas! Neither halved DE blades nor Injectorblades fit ... |
