A new handle for an old razor. - GAW9576 - 06-26-2021 I've been wanting to try to make a handle for a Schick E or G. I just couldn't bring myself to destroying a good original handle. Thanks to mayer57619 who sent me this razor head. (It was already missing a handle.) I used a drill press, band saw, table router and lots of hand sanding to make this acrylic/resin handle from a pen blank I picked up at my local Woodcraft. BTW I'm terrible with razor I. D. Could someone kindly tell me which Schick this is? RE: A new handle for an old razor. - Dave in KY - 06-26-2021 That is an AMAZING job. STUNNING ! I have a head and wish I had those skills...... RE: A new handle for an old razor. - TobyC - 06-26-2021 E-3, I think. RE: A new handle for an old razor. - mlb 549 - 06-26-2021 That is real craftsman work!! Beautiful!! RE: A new handle for an old razor. - Jayaruh - 06-26-2021 Oh, yes, that is a real beauty. I have made several replacement handles for Schick E/Gs from different woods, and I can appreciate the time and effort it takes for such a little piece. Beautiful, just beautiful. RE: A new handle for an old razor. - GAW9576 - 06-26-2021 Thanks guys. And especially thank you Jayaruh. This was a fun project and I plan on doing more. Definitely A LOT of hand sanding though. I went from 200 grit all the way to 12,000 grit wet sanding. RE: A new handle for an old razor. - Grassy - 06-26-2021 (06-26-2021, 06:42 PM)GAW9576 Wrote: Thanks guys. That is a great looking razor! It must have taken some skill and effort to achieve but well worth it. Without the original handle, I'll not even attempt to guess which one. Beautiful job!
