I had to say goodbye to my cat Peanut the other day. He was 16 years old. Had him since he was a baby. He stopped eating. Tried a lot of different things at the vet, but he still wouldn't eat.

Dog person here as well, but no matter, it's always very difficult when it's time for them to go. I definitely feel your loss and pain. Why is my keyboard getting blurry?
Given time for the pain to lessen I suggest getting another. That's always worked for us.

I feel with you.
My cat died almost 3 weeks ago, aged 16 or 17. We had her since she was 2.
Luckily we didn't have to take her to the vet, she died at home in our arms.
I'm still heartbroken, but we'll get another rescue cat next week.
We always said this would be our last cat, but then the opportunity came our way without us looking for it.
The new cat will not replace our beloved one, she will be a new adventure.

Condolences. Having Chibi put down was one the hardest things. I still miss her. She was a Jack Russel terrier. We have Nigel now and that helps.

I'm sure eventually I'll get another pet, but I think I'll wait awhile.
