Finished off the University Flake this morning, i really enjoyed it and i will be buying more to put in the storage cupboard.
To run alongside the Eric Stokkebye "sweet" 4th Gen 1897, i decided to try the well respected Erinmore Flake - another first for me.

A very old fashioned tobacco aroma from the tin on opening which i really like as it reminds me of my grandparent house, Granda always smoke heavy tobacco's in his pipe.
I decided to pack the Donegal Rocky 80S, i took about 2/3's of 1 flake and gently rubbed it out. I like to loosely pack Flake tobacco to let it expand in the bowl.
The pipe lit easily enough and it is really mellow from the off with some light floral notes, the tobacco flavour is there but not overpowering, it is burning evenly and is very cool and mellow. Not bad for a first bowlful.
It does seem to be producing a bit moisture and may benefit from a little drying out.

The last full bowl of MacBaren Vanilla Cream this afternoon, and Presbyterian Mixture for a damp, evening walk.  I've been underwhelmed by the Presbyterian, most likely because my expectations were out of line.

Been running the Erinmore along side some My Smoking shop "Gentlemans choice" and G&H American Delight. I have been using the Erinmore sparingly as it is a nice slow smoke.
I decided to top up the G&H American Delight, it is one of my favourites at the mo.
Also up this week is the Petersons Special Cut.

Today is a La Gloria Cubano Esteli. A favorite of mine. I work tonight so this is my ride to work smoke.

Today was Cornell & Diehl's Sansepolcro for me.  The dark-fired leaf from Italy is not the dominant component as I anticipated.  The dark fruit and citrus from the Virginias are excellent complements to it.

It used to be called Petersons Nutty Cut ( I think) before our Tobacco Police changed the rules on branding and advertising.
Its quite nice, it does seem to benefit a slightly looser pack to let it expand in the chamber, it is quite nutty.

I finished off the Special cut earlier this week and am on the end of the G&H American Delite.
So next up is Squadron Leader and a Full Virginia Flake.
The SL is a bit dry and a bit musty to the nose, not quite sure of this one.
On the other hand the Flake smells wonderful.

I am really struggling with the Squadron Leader!  There is a taste in there that really does not agree with me, it's not horrible although it's not nice.
It still has that musty smell, antique book shop type and I find it quite acrid, during the smoke every now and again I get a horrible taste like a bile taste.
Cant wait till this is gone,  it will not be bought again and I cannot recommend it.

On the other side of the coin the Full Virginia Flake is wonderful, all a nice tobacco should be.
