The Time and Place for “Aggressive” Razors
#11
MrGuy I have the same problem with the hairs on my neck growing flat to the skin. Especially either side of my Adams apple which also seems to be much more sensitive skin. Makes for a few extra passes in that area with mild to mid aggressive razors. With good technique and a really efficient razor I can generally avoid irritation and get a clean shave. Although sometimes I get irritation there no matter how careful I am.

I know this is an older thread, but I felt the need to post regarding my experience with an E Type Schick Injector from the mid '30's. I find for me this to be an aggressive razor with a new blade as much as any. While my first love is the BMMOC or MMOC, the Schick will draw blood quicker for me than the GEM. Perhaps I am not as cautious.

And, when shaving around the nose and nostrils, the Schick just fits into those spaces better. It can also draw blood in those same spaces...LOL!!

Schick E's are awesome razors.

I have an E3 and folks say it's "aggressive", but I found it to be a very smooth , comfortable, user friendly razor. I use "Chicks" exclusively.
Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

Where are the people in this and other threads, who ran them off? Or were they all kicked to the curb like I was?

If I were so predisposed, I’d send you mine to evaluate.
You’d probably change your mind…??

It's probably just me, I like a lot of blade feel, and injectors are light,... I swear they remind me of those orange throw away razors!

I use a couple of ancient and modern bare blade type if that helps you with some context.
I know the feel and use of steel.

You mean lather catchers? Me too, but they are pretty mild. The square comb Shovelhead, and some of the squat head '12's are nice and bladey. I have a '14 with stops that I moved forward that is extremely efficient, love that razor, it would probably skin a novice. Tongue

The E3 I use is midline aggressive feeling. I have a E2 that is full on better watch it. Razors of the same model can feel different. No idea why.
Happy shaves to ya!
