Is it sacrilegious to put a puck of Williams in a Proraso shaving mug?

After the failings of the previous Williams Wednesday, last night I did a test lather to see if I could dial it in better. Sorry Jayaruh, but I abandoned the rub it on technique. I first aggressively loaded the brush off the puck from the Proraso mug and then lathered it up in a Timeless Razor bowl. I added a good amount of water, a wee bit at a time, and beat it to within an inch of its life. This created a real thick lather that didn't dissipate when I painted it on my face.

So today I followed the same procedure, loading a bit less soap, and ended up with an adequate lather that was not as thick as yesterday. When I lathered up my face, it was a bit too airy. However, I found that if I just kept at it by painting and painting and painting...the bubbles cleared and the lather thickened up. I know Wchnu would not approve of all this fussiness with Williams, but I find a thick, hydrated lather to be best for me as a noob.

In the end a 2.5 pass shave was successful and I've redeemed myself with the Williams! I feel more comfortable with the Damaskeene with each passing shave.
