28/09/21 SEptember Pre - Pears Transparent Original Cold water Face wash Brush - Simpson Commodore X1 Soap - Signature Soap Eboracum Razor - Razorock ECO Blade - Permasharp Post - Cold water Rinse, TC's infused Witch Hazel Balm - Tester Barts H A/S - Geoffrey Beene Bowling Green
Not the greatest shave today, i have never had a blade drop off as quickly as it did today. A great face lather from the little X1 Commodore and Signature soap, for the size of the brush it easily holds enough for 3 passes. The ECO razor and Permasharp are normally a very good pairing and i can normally get at least 2 shaves per blade, today was the first time i have had one go from sharp to pulling in a couple of strokes, the WTG pass was super smooth, the blade went off mid XTG pass, i should have stopped and swapped either blade or razor, i did not and was rewarded with some irritation and a fair bit sting from the splash. Everything has calmed down now and you live and learn. "Every days a school day" as they say, whoever "they" are. Anyway, Stay safe and enjoy your day All

Tabac Shave Soap
Jayaruh #414 Silvertip Badger
GEM Damaskeene
Personna GEM SS PTFE

Tabac AS
The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #414 Silvertip Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the GEM Damaskeene with a Personna GEM SS PTFE gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Minor Redemption! I was all set to go another day with the unmentionables, as my skin was still not fully recovered. But, I decided to get on the horse and despite having an unmentionable on standby I completed two and a half passes solely with an SE blade. I REALLY focused on minimal pressure, as reminded by GAW9576 and keeping the proper angle as noted by Wchnu. Not sure why, but I have a certain comfort level with this razor thus far. Today was a confidence builder!
AWESOME Bryan, Giddy-up !!!
Great looking set up. Good to see your on the technique train! Keep it up!!

Since this is my first Gem SS PFTE blade (thanks again Dave) and not having any idea how many shaves I can expect to get, I'm going back to the Damaskeene for a few days. So far, this has been the smoothest, easiest shave...until it bites me down the road! The standard two and a half passes with no problems. I found myself chasing/over-shaving a bit at the end and might have earned some minor irritation.
The Proraso Green in the tub was one of my first soaps. While out shopping yesterday I found a tube of the Green cream at Marshall's for $4.99. It looks like this is the older color tube, but it face-lathered up just fine.
