Love those boxes!
You should not have to hold it open, I had a '12 doing that, but the top had been bent down slightly. With one hand I held the handle and pushed up on the front of the head with my thumb, just a little bend, and now it works properly. I don't know if yours has that same problem or not, and any bending will have to be at your own risk.
Those are my favorite handles!
.
I really like these handles too. Oddly these squat head razors and handles don't interchange with regular 1912s they do however interchange with lather catchers.
The small thread? If I knew that I've forgotten it, then they should fit most 1914s too.
Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

I'll check later. I too must have forgotten that the 1914 has small threads.

I double checked and yes the handles fit the 1914.

Ha. That is funny. What I'm glad I realized through this is that this handle also fits my older lather catchers. I'm not sure why that never dawned on me previously. Now I'm looking forward to a shave with it on one of them.

My Feather Injector arrived. The card is marked 400 yen and with the exchange rate at 115 to the dollar you can't say this was an expensive razor. Rarity drives the price here. Yes, I am going to open the package and shave with it!

Been watching this s bone handle one with the top replaced with Red Cedar and an Oumo Badger knot. Couldn't pass up the offer they sent me.
