But I hate Feather spineless blades!
Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

Really hot boiling water to aliminium foil and add baking soda. It is very good if the plating is silver. Its no aggressive on the silver oxide. I've used it on a couple of vintage "Improved" unmentionaable from that monopoly company  which makes moern 3-4-5 vibrating blade abominations .

Edit : Make sure the razor touches the aluminium literally loosely wrapped.

I'm on the fence with the Feather spineless. However it was shown as a possible blade to be used in this razor so for size comparison it may be helpful.

works great for Silver plated things. You might have to do it a few times depending on how tarnished it is.  that is how AI do all my silver plated razors.

Interesting. For my few silver plated razors I left them blackened because I like the look. I just sanitized them. But this may be good to know for my wife or daughters jewelry.

He used WAY MORE baking soda than needed. About 4 cups of water and a tablespoon of baking soda will do the trick

So here's what I have. A Valet on the Left, an I assume original 7 O'Clock in the Middle (Had 2 like this) and a De-spined Gem with some snipping at the top on the Right. They all are to close to similar to distinguish to my old eyes..........

So you just despine and snip the corners? Similar to what would be done for a Valet?
