Funny you should ask -- I haven't picked up a "new to me" razor in quite a while, but I have a peerless winging it's way through the mail, even as I type this -- at least I hope it is.  I've been curious about the Peerless for a while, as I've heard some other folks mention that they prefer it to the "regular".  I'm not optimistic that I'll be able to tell a difference, but I do harbor some hope that it may raise the Clog-Pruf's ranking a bit in the den.  When it comes in, it will definitely be showing up on Micromatic Monday.

In a blindfold test, could you tell the difference between the Micromatic and the Clog-Pruf? I don't think I could.
Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

I've seen images of the two side by side, I didn't know one was a "Peerless". I don't know what the peerless sets were all about, I thought it was just a marketing thing to sell more stuff. Special box, different handle, cool name, just to catch consumer interest.

Probably was just something to get people to buy a new razor although the I believe the Peerless is more efficient than the standard Clog-Pruf. However I have no real way of determining if it is all in my head or actually in the shave quality. I have long felt an affectve placebo effect is still effective.

I would like to think I could. I don't plan on shaving blindfolded to find out though.

Yep, anything is "better" if you think it is.

I remember having this discussion a few years back about how the newer shaving creams and gels resulted in more clogging. I say this because GEM may have produced a "clog proof" for a need people had as a result of using certain mediums.

Also, the razors that Barbasol sourced were closed comb type with generous blade exposure.
