The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with the Oscar11 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the ENDGEM SPEED 3D Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... RE: SOTD - November 2021 - srqshaver - 11-10-2021 Another day, another GEM razor. This is my first use of a GEM Jr. and it was a good one. I paired it with a third-use PTFE blade. The Hendrix Classics & Co soap is really growing on me. It has a nice fragrance and the lather is effortless. I did incur one small weeper in my trouble spot under the jawline but I was being a bit too aggressive so you reap what you sow. The end result was a heck of a shave. My daughter, unprompted, called it a baby smooth shave. Even though I had such a great shave, I can't say I particularly enjoyed using this razor. The angle and length of the handle made it seem a bit awkward, especially compared to the G-Bar and MMOC. I'm not sure I'll use this very often but I am going to try using this handle on the Ever-Ready Shovelhead to make it more usable. The stumpy handle on that thing is silly in my big hands. Cold Water Shave Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave Razor: Unmentionable Blade: Unmentionable (3rd Use) Brush: Semogue SOC Boar in Taj Resin Lather: Williams Mug Shaving Soap, Face Lathered Post: Osma Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Aqua Velva, Nivea Sensitive Cooling Balm A successful, yet subpar, two pass shave. This unmentionable razor was my first non-grocery store razor, which is the classic two-piece FNG razor. I thought the unmentionable blade would be fine for a third use, but oh was I wrong. Once I realized what the deal was, I decided to soldier on to see what kind of shave I could get. In the end, only one weeper, but a lot of blade buffing that didn't seem to do much good. Oh well. The good news was in the lather department. As you can see in the image, I went to Lowes and picked up some rubber o-rings and slid one on over the handle to try and give this brush more backbone. I can say I could tell a difference and it was better, but still a soft, mostly floppish knot. The last time I tried to face lather Williams didn't go so well...this time much better. I made sure to load plenty of soap to the brush and then once I got it on my face I cycled a few times between adding water and scrubbing. Worked fine, but not sure how much soap was left if I had done a third pass. RE: SOTD - November 2021 - mlb 549 - 11-10-2021 Happy Birthday to all of our Marines!!!
