Because sixty pounds ain't "pretty cheap". Nice razor though.

75 USD by today’s conversion rate. IMO not a total bank killer. Could be far worse; watched a National safety razor in tin the other day go for 1100.

There is a long way from "total bank killer" to "pretty cheap".
Let's settle on "reasonable". Wink

Beautiful.  What type of modern blade?  It looks like you could slip an Injector in there.  I have a bunch of vintage ENDERs blades that look like the blades shown with the two end tabs.

I used either an Injector blade or a Schick Proline B20. I don't remember which. A de-spined and trimmed Gem blade would probably work too.

These are lovely razors. One piece I have never solved is the serial numbering - some have and at least this one does not. Not sure what it means as the engraving appears otherwise the same.

D Irving, the creator of The Original Safety may know if he drops by again. This razor I’m posting used to belong to him. It made its way to Appersley in Australia after him, then to me in Canada. The razor at least is a world traveller!

For me a Schick injector does the job. I will try a chopped gem though - good idea.

German Silver/Nickel Silver/Argentan = copper alloy with nickel and zinc typically 60% 20% 20%
