I'm curious what differentiates the Peerless from other 1912s. I thought it was a handle pattern. However I must be mistaken as that roazor has a different pattern than the one I thought it was. Maybe I'll have to do a little searching over there. I think it's one of the best looking handles frim the ASR family. That and the Gem Junior Elite handle. I saw an antique mechanical pencil with a similar pattern to the Peerless for sale on the Bay a while back. Boy was it stunning. And the it's beauty was reflected in its price. A wonderful slick lather from the Proraso and Faux Horsey Yaqi, I decided to give the GEM Carbon blade another try, this time in the Ally handled 1951 Ever Ready, which is a wonderful shaver. I don't really get it, this Blade just does nothing for me, it felt quite rough throughout the shave, although, it was not uncomfortable. I completed 3 full passes and still only managed a DFS finish, therefore it has been banished to the blade bank and i do not think i will try them again. The shave was saved by a nice post shave routine and the satisfaction of binning the blade. Stay safe and enjoy your day All. RE: SOTD - January 2021 - GAW9576 - 01-10-2021 Had a very close shave with the WABBIT today. This was my first shave with one. I started with a used blade that I'm unsure of how many shaves it had previously performed. It must have been at the end of its useful life because I was not impressed. I switched to a new Schick proline B20 and WOW this thing is effective with a good blade. RE: SOTD - January 2021 - Tony'schin - 01-12-2021 12/01/21 Vintage Month - Razor #12 Pre: Shower Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24mm Soap: Tabac Razor: Ever Ready 1912 USA Blade: GEM PTFE S/S (9) Post shave: Cold water Rinse, TC's infused Witch Hazel Balm: Vintage Tabac Black Aftershave: Tabac ![]() A great lather from the Tabac and little Yaqi for a dependable face covering today. I find this little USA version of the 1912 less aggressive than its UK brothers, although, it does have a wonderful toast scraping soundtrack. Its box is a bit tatty, however, the Razor is pristine, it has probably been pushed around in a drawer for donkey's years. 3 Very comfortable passes for a BBS finish. A nice post shave routine leaving me smelling all 1970's. Stay Safe and enjoy your day All. |
