Lather Catcher Sunday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Braymore Farm Goat Milk Sandalwood Soap
Jayaruh #437
Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher
Personna GEM SS PTFE
CWR
Pinaud Citrus Musk Cologne

The Braymore Farm Goat Milk Sandalwood Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #437 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Just received a sample pack from Apex Alchemy Soaps and what a BANGER.  Gren River is a trubute to a Lime Drink enjoyed around St. Patty Day in Chicago.  Light Lime scent with other citrus notes.
Very nice face feel and left a mean after rinse slickness.  The new Semogue brush whipped a wonderful three pass lather off a sample load.

STAR Razor w/ Black Bakelite Handle
GEM Personna SS PTFE Blade (2X)
Apex Alchemy Gren River Shave Soap Sample
Semogue Torga C5 Onyx Synthetic Brush
Myrsol Agua de Limon Splash
Apex Alchemy Gren River Aftershave Sample

My favorite 1912 model!!

Is it my imagination or does the Star shave smoother than the comparable Gem or EverReady?  It just seems like it.

Lather Catcher & Sample Sunday Celebration

The first pass was a bit rough.  Didn't have the angle of the blade quite right.  Flipped the blade and adjusted it a bit on the second pass and that's all it took.  It does need a shim behind the blade at the top to force the angle downwards towards the stops and the open comb.  Having never shaved with one of these before and this being only my second attempt it turned out pretty good.  Dried down to a nice BBS.

Star Lather Catcher (1902-ish)
GEM SS PTFE Blade (1X)

Monday Morning Magnificence

Almost the perfect storm of ingredients.  VC1 with a third use Gem that was soooo smooth and efficient.
Talbot Soap layed down a rich carpet of lather with the dense Silksmoke knot.
Just a magnificent shave.

Interesting razor.  Is there blade stops or does tension of the top spring just hold the blade in place?

No blade stops. The top spring holds it in very securely. This picture shows the original Burham Blade. Notice it has no cutouts or spine.
