SOTD - November 2021

Lather Catcher Sunday!
Cold Water Shave w/ Hot Water Lather
Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Gem Junior Bar
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (9th Use)
Brush: Omega Pro 49 Boar
Lather: Tcheon Fung Sing - Red, Face Lathered
Post: Osma Alum Block, Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel, Brut Classic Splash-on, Nivea Sensitive Balm

A successful two and a half pass shave. I've mostly dialed in my neck to two passes (WTG/ATG). Where I've previously struggled ATG on my chin area and mustache, its really my cheeks where I find the ATG causes irritation. Continuing to improve my face lathering technique by ensuring I add enough water prior to the first pass. Using an electric kettle to heat up a small amount of water to soak my natural hair brushes in and for dipping the tips to add hydration to the lather. A bit of the best of both worlds!  Thumbsup

Grassy kicked it off with a spectacular, classic image including some wonderful instruments! He always brings beautiful brushes!!!

Dave in KY brought his strong vintage game with the wonderful Williams wooden bowl and the Fuzzy Schick E2, a classy, well patina'd razor...much like Wchnu himself!  Big Grin

Jayaruh continuing his month of shaving with 3D printed razors using the Stoll Jr. Lather Catcher. Gentleman Jim's custom wooden boxes really highlight his art, craftsmanship and his love for shaving!

And lastly for now, Tony'schin showing off his recently acquired Autostrop 7 O'Clock. He's really put a lot of TLC into cleaning up this razor and making it the star of the shave! His patience to get this razor really paid off.

I'm sure there will be more great posts today and throughout the weekend from the community!

Hey now I saw that!! Of course it's true.....
Happy shaves to ya!

Man I love the patina on this old E2 Injector gifted to me by Wchnu Fuzzy on TOST3.com It shaves amazing too. Also the Brush from Evan on TSD. I'm thankful for the shave community we have across forums and boards that I can be a part of. The sharing and generosity among the majority of the members is to be applauded and mimicked. Smelling good for the beginning of the weekend and hope you all enjoy yours !!

I have top agree that is a beautiful razor. If I did not love the shave from the E2 I have I would have not sent that one to you.

Cold Water Rinse
Tea Tree Shave Bar
Semogue 1305 Boar
Fuzzy Catcher
Personna GEM SS PTFE
CWR
Osage Rub

Day 15 of 3D Printed Razor Month

The Tea Tree Shave Bar lathered well with the Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Fuzzy Catcher 3D Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The Gem Clog-Pruf Peerless performed particularly pleasantly today with a second use Gem SS PTFE. I've also been getting far better results with boar brushes. The Omega 40033 was used to whipped up a wonderful face lather with Cellar organic. Today's watch is the Casio WD 5600E on a 22mm burgundy eulit perlon watch strap using JaysandKays adapters.

Pre-Shave: Proraso White
Lather: Seaforth! Heather
Aftershave: Seaforth! Heather Aftershave Toner

I transplanted a blade tensioner from a Contour II into this razor to get it back into working order.  It’s a bit fiddly to load, but it shaves nicely now.

Menthol Micromatic Monday!
Cold Water Shave w/ Hot Water Lather
Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Gem Micromatic Open Comb
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (10th and Final Use)
Brush: Semogue SOC Boar in Taj Resin
Lather: Proraso Green, Face Lathered
Post: Osma Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Jeris Osage Rub, Nivea Sensitive Cooling Balm

A successful two pass shave. Didn't want to push things considering the efficiency of this razor and 10th use of the blade. When I first picked up this brush, I had some issues with it being what I think is referred to as a lather hog. It's not been a problem for a while, as at first I was bowl lathering and made sure to load more product. Now that I'm face lathering, I've been trying to figure out the proper amount to load. Today I guessed wrong and loaded too little. It was not a problem on the first pass, but when I went to lather for the second pass there was not much left. I tried to scrub more lather and even squeezed what I could out of the brush, but in the end it was a less than optimal amount. Oh well...another lesson learnt!  Big Grin

Now that I'm getting more comfortable with the SS PTFE blades, tomorrow I will start a test run with a carbon Treet blade. Since I've had better luck with lightweight razors giving a smooth shave more consistently, I've lined up the next four shaves to use a Featherweight, ER 1914, Triceratops 3D and Gem Jr. w/ baton handle.

PS...thanks to twhite for including this MMOC as a bonus when I purchased his OC Dammy. The FW that I will use tomorrow was also included.
