Is this your Zenith horse brush? They are interesting to me. How do you like it and how does it compare to other brushes/knots that you use?
I have 12 horse brushes and love them all. Zenith makes excellent brushes, with several handle styles. A quality horse knot has no smell and is very soft. They make very fine latherers! I prefer large brushes and have 5 Zenith horses with 26mm to 30mm knots. All Zenith horse brushes are of excellent workmanship with the softest knot I have plus the best latherer!! I have seen are black hairs and of the highest quality. My favorite horse brush is one I had custom made by Virginia Seng, it is a 30mm white horse brush. There is nothing as fine as well broken in boar brush which I have a large stable of, but horses are almost my daily drivers, which makes my horses real treats to use. My third favorite knot is synthetics with badger my least favorite-even though I have some classic badgers made by big name companies that were pretty pricey. Vie Long makes a very good horse brush although real small knots by my standards. Vie Long brushes are very well made and very reasonable in price. As with all things shaving, personal preferences rule.

Another close and comfortable shave with the MARS. It is definitely a good shaver and provides a wide variety of inserts for varying the blade gap depending on your preference.
If there is an interest...I would be willing to do a pass around to let others try it out.
I just read an incredible review of this razor by Roger Quintero, who himself is responsible for some pretty impressive razors. He finds this razor to be a feat of design. I chatted with Rob to see if I could score one but he's all out. I'll probably need to wait for the Kickstarter campaign to get one. If you do end up wanting to pass it around I would definitely be interested.
Now, my SOTD sees me trying out the razor that not long ago chewed me up and spit me out. To be fair, it was my first ever shave with a GEM razor and a brand new stainless PTFE blade. Yes, I am referring to the mighty GEM Featherweight. :-D
Today, after having used several other GEM razors, the FW was much kinder. I got a BBS- result with a third-use stainless PTFE blade and Proraso Red.

I'm glad you posted this. I want to like the one horse I have but it sheds terribly. I think the live horse would shed less hair per square inch.
I think the next brush I purchase will be either the Zenith horse in that link or the higher loft Zenith Boar in the copper handle since I really like the lower loft boar I have in that handle.

I'm glad you gave the Featherweight another chance and were rewarded with a great shave. I like the FW so much I have 3 versions of it now.

Are you able to tell which version I have?

My first shave with this interesting razor. All went well but you certainly wouldn't call it mild. After two passes I got a fair bit of sting from the aftershave, this was probably not helped by the fresh Gem Stainless which can be a little harsh out of the box. I think next time with a blade with a few shaves on it it will be just fine.

Razor: Titanium Unmentionable
Blade: Unmentionable
Brush: Vein Quartz/Horse
Soap: Sheep Fat Test Soap
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Nivea Deep
Fragrance: Amouage Journey
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,114
Another delightful use of the test soap and not much more to say about it. Just getting some more uses before final results are reported olschoolsteel The Horse on 2nd use was shedding like the 1st use. Hopefully it will slow down to a reasonable level or it may get swapped for a nice Boar. That'd be a shame as I'd like to have a horse in the stable..........(see what I did there) and it would be an appropriate handle to have one in. If it stays I may need a little horse figurine like my Boar and Badgers. The Titanium Unmentionable just flat out works for me in spades which is so odd as I didn't care for it in SS at all. Titanium just has such a nice soft face feel. Have a great day Folks !

Thanksgiving Day's Shave
Cold Water Rinse
Strop Shoppe Unscented Shave Soap
Jayaruh 287 Synthetic
GEM-LP
Personna GEM SS PTFE
CWR
Aqua Velva Musk AS
Day 25 of 3D Printed Razor Month
The Strop Shoppe Unscented Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh 287 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the GEM-LP 3D Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
