This is turning out to be a pretty exciting project! Funny, I was thinking about little metal inserts where the edge of the blade meets the front tabs as well. I don’t know anything about 3-D printing so I’m of no help there.
I was renting a house before buying this one and it wasn’t only old, but also on a piece of land completely covered with cottonwood trees. Seems like every other year another tree’s roots would disrupt a part of the pluming somewhere. As much as I don’t like working on pluming, it’s even worse to be stuck calling property managers then waiting for someone to come inspect, then deciding what to do about it. I may or may not have done several small repairs on my own in that house
