Hmm...looks like the forum software has an issue with the "At" symbol. My first test post above using my username, it was visible for a moment, but once refreshed it disappeared. Same thing that Greg was mentioning.

Correction...it's the username...not the "At" symbol. I went back and edited post #11 after noticing I had quoted the post that had my username. Once I edited it by removing the quoted text with my username...it is now visible.

Awesome razor and on my hunt one list. Great shave Greg !

Make one.

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

Menthol Monday!
Cold Water Shave w/ Hot Water Lather
Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Gem Damaskeene Open Comb
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (1st Use)
Brush: Vulvix 374 Super Badger
Soap: Proraso Green Cream
Post: Osma Alum Block, Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel, Jeris Osage Rub, Nivea Sensitive Balm

Another successful shave, two passes with touch ups. I found the Gem Damaskeene Open Comb to be a very smooth shaver! I am very fortunate to be the proud owner and thank Tom "twhite" for selling it to me! Just a bit of earned irritation, which I'm going to attribute mostly to being the first shave on this blade...that's my story and I'm sticking with it!  Big Grin Second time using my new hot lather method, which worked well and was enjoyed.

Razor: Unmentionable
Blade: Unmentionable
Brush: Vintage Bone and Red Cedar/Boti Badger
Soap: Talbot Cades Cove
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: MAOI Cades Cove
Fragrance: Amouage Journey
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,091

So I believe it was Pete (Patriot) that sent me some different blades. I tend to use the same ones without trying new ones but I'm trying to make a conscious effort to try some that have been gifted and laying around. These are made in the UK and are Platinum Chrome Sputtered.....................go ahead and google it, I had to. It involves ions.......My determination is that Ions are a good thing when using Platinum Chrome. Nice smooth and sharp blade. Time will tell on longevity of blade life. Thanks Pete and hope you're well. Think he got a girlfriend and hasn't come up for air yet....

The Amouge was a sample sent to me by my buddy Gus (Glazedboker) and is a nice one for sure. Forgot I had this and 2 other samples he sent. Thanks Gus ! Here's the scent description:
The Amouage Journey Eau De Parfum Spray is an alluringly smooth fragrance for the man who is sparkling with tradition and modernity. The woody and very masculine fragrance was introduced by the design house Amouage in the year 2014. The fragrance starts its journey with spicy notes from Cardamom and Sichuan Pepper. At the heart lie the sweet notes of Juniper Berries and Incense combined with hot notes from Tobacco. The base is resplendent with deep fragrances from Tonka Beans, Leather and Musk for a fragrance that is distinct and magnetic.

So reason for the soap/splash choice was we're heading to poke around Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains today and spend the night in Townsend, TN before coming home tomorrow morning as we have friends coming for a T-Bone Steak dinner on the porch. 2 years ago her father passed away and we wanted to be with them to celebrate what a great guy he was. If not raining after dinner we'll have S'mores and talk by a bonfire. Have a great day folks !!

sparkling with tradition and modernity " who writes this stuff?  Huh I'm not Sparkling with anything, especially not modernity. The rest of the scent description sounds good though.
