I hope you can get one too. They are not easy to come by unless you got the bucks.

With some things I can be fairly patient.

I tried looking for one of these and there was not a single one. There was two of the B1 but this razor looks like it would be able to pass TSA. Anyone know if that is true? Anyways the price on the B1 are between 55-65 bucks which at the moment is out of my budget. Man I hope I can find one in the future because these repeating razors are cool looking.

I certainly wouldn't risk taking any razor I cared about through TSA, especially a hard to find or pricey one.

bcshaves -- I have taken many safety razors through TSA (both of the unmentionable variety and non-injector-SE razors), but every one of them had the blades either packed in a checked bag or waiting for me at my destination.  I always made sure that I had easy access to the razors in my carry-on for when I was stopped. Surprisingly, I was stopped only once -- it was my GEM Damaskeenee Open Comb.  I was confident that I would be able to show that there was no way to use any of my blade-less razors as a weapon; and indeed the agents were fully satisfied once they inspected it, and let me through.

Now some may feel that this is risky behavior, and they may be right, but I was dead-certain that I could prove that there was no way an empty razor could be used as a weapon, and I was equally certain that no one could show or prove that a razor without a blade could cause any damage or harm to a human being.   But I would never, never, NEVER try that with one of my injectors....unless I had removed the blade prior to travel....which doesn't make sense to me.   While I suspect some TSA agents (perhaps most) may not know the difference between a plastic-unmentionable and an injector; I wouldn't want to chance coming across an "old timer" (or a fellow wet-shaver) who knows that the blade is removable (although not easily without an injector)....in any case, I couldn't prove that a bladed-injector couldn't be used as a weapon, and I wouldn't risk losing any of my beloved Schicks (or PAL Injectomatics).

So the short answer is:  I fully agree with GAW9576 (as usual)  Big Grin

Boy Flintstone I was all prepared to respond with a long winded and fact filled rebuttal on the woes of traveling with vintage razors. Then I read the last line were you said you agree with me. That completely deflated my defensive position.
Oh well I guess I'll have to troll someone else.
Big Grin  kidding of course. I don't remember ever having anything to disagree with you about. I'll have to be diligent and dig deeper I guess.

I have just snagged a nice Shick A for what I think was a good BIN price. It's going to take a (long) while to get here so I was looking here at these lovely examples, as you do. I just thought I would ask for any tips on cleaning one since these all look so good. I have some Brasso for the head but is this OK for the aluminium? Any advice would be welcome, thanks

The head on mine is gold plated, so I wouldn't use Brasso on that! Start with warm water, dish soap and a soft toothbrush and see what that gets you before getting out the abrasives. Enjoy!

Thanks, since I got a C a few months ago I've realised what great razors the repeaters are! You were lucky to find one in such nice condition.
It will be a few weeks before mine arrives.
