I've been on an unmentionable kick, trying to test a bunch of new gear, and getting many not-so-great shaves. Today I received an injector of the new Supply Black blades so I just had to try one out.
First, let me say that the little black box makes it seem like you've purchased something special, at least in comparison to the usual blade packaging. Unfortunately, the injector itself is CHEAP feeling. And it's not just a feeling, the key is flexible plastic and nowhere near strong enough to use in most injectors. I just got another Schick G type that needs a new blade anyway but no dice. I almost shredded the plastic key trying to get it to insert. Then I thought maybe since it's new to me, the razor might be stiff or something. Nope. A metal injector goes right in.
So the next attempt was an M1 adjustable which is not nearly as tight. Even it was a struggle but I managed to get a blade in with some serious twisting and force. Not good.
Thankfully, the shave itself was very good. The blade feels sharp and smooth and made quick work of two days of growth. Three passes later and I was smooth as a baby. Now, I'm not ready to call it a done deal and give my seal of approval to these blades for a few reasons. I've been using mostly unmentionables as mentioned and haven't felt that reassuring steadiness, stiffness, edge, whatever you want to call it. I think you fellas probably know what I'm talking about. It could just be that alone, or it could be that good of a blade. I'm going to shave with a Schick next time to compare.
I also want to see how many shaves I get per blade. Considering how much they cost and the truly terrible injector, I'd like to know that it's worth the hassle. I'd also like to get the remaining blades into a metal injector if possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
Nice write up, Eric! I also saw the new Supply blades and was curious on how well they work. I've only got one dispenser of the Personnas and at some point will need to figure out what to buy next. I look forward to hearing how many shaves you can get out of one.
Nice looking shave setup! The Schick adjustable is an eye catcher to me, kind of a retro look!
I agree with Bryan's comments and add, the Type M is a great razor, so much so that I bought a second model, a later one that can handle the Schick twin blades. And Eric, love the map background, colorful and busy in a flattering way! Well done.

No luck and I am going to put that thing away for a while to see if maybe I have better luck in the future. The shave was close and blood was drawn leading to some pretty intense irritation but a near BBS shave. The Clubman soap and aftershave were the highlights of the shave. I know I've done that and lived to regret it!

Love that handle! Do you hear the Iwantsies screaming in my head?!

Pre - Haircut, Shower
Brush - Simpson Chubby 2
Soap - D. R. Harris Arlington
Razor - Unmentionable Brass
Blade - USA Unmentionable
Post - Cold water Rinse, TC's infused Witch Hazel
Balm - Barts Balm Cinnamon & Patchouli Balm & Lotion
A/S - Barbour EDT
I got the clippers out this morning for my monthly mop tidy, these things are paying for themselves. Very happy with the result today.
I found this Brass Unmentionable much smoother than its stainless brother so the SS version was moved on, paired with the USA Made blade it delivers a wonderfully efficient and smooth shave, no harshness whatsoever, its a pity its discontinued, i am so glad i have it in the stable.
An easy face lather today and enough light citrusy scented slickness in the brush for 3 passes from very little loading.
I completed 2 passes WTG-XTG mix and then an ATG pass for an easy comfortable BBS finish.
The Barbour EDT is a nice splash, however, a bit too woody for the Arlington soap. I will have to remember that for future use.
So, haircut, showered, shaved and ready for a family surprise birthday lunch, just need to get Our Ruby out for her walk and then get ready for some long awaited family celebration time.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

Saturday's Shave
Cold Water Rinse
Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
Jayaruh #424 Synthetic
TiBr Wabbit
Personna Injector Blade
47 Unmentionable Razor
Unmentionable Blade
CWR
Lustray Spice After Shave
The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Brush. The first pass was with the TiBr Wabbit by Tom with a Personna blade. Second pass and touch ups with the 47 Unmentionable Razor with an Unmentionable Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
