I'm looking for a first generation now, I have a second generation---I think the only difference is the size of the vents in the base plate. Just wondering if they shave any different due to some other minor difference.

i have both but have not done a comparison side by side shave. I will have to do that. I have read that the first generation was designed for the thick spine SE blade. And the gen 2 was designed for the modern thin spine. If that is the case. I would surmise that gen 1 might be a tad more aggressive with a modern blade. As it might change the blade angle ever so slightly.

Now, I won't link to any live auctions. But if you search UK eBay for "Vintage 1930s 40s Bakelite Ever Ready Streamline Safety Razor Clipper Cream Set", you just might find something interesting. If you're in the EU, bear in mind that post Brexit, there a customs tax will be levied. On that may also be "interesting."

I picked up this Streamline a few weeks ago, and have used it maybe about 6 times. I was hesitant to buy one for a long time because they can be quite expensive and I wasn't certain they would live up to the hype. But I,m very glad I bought one finally, and even though it cost more than the rest of my SEs put together, I don't regret it. It's a wonderful razor.
It has a nice weight and balance, it feels solid in the hand. It's obviously well-built. And because the teeth of the comb are shorter than most SEs, it's easy to shave under the nose. It feels more aggressive than my other razors, but it also has way more feedback. As a result, I'm able to get super close and comfortable shaves with this razor. It lives up to its hype!

So, a friend of mine from Texas has been on the lookout for vintage razors on my behalf.
And then he sent me this:
Well, it's NOS. How nice.
