GEM vs TREET Blades
#1
Are there any difference in the SS blades?  Aren't they made by the same company?

Well, the Treet Super single edge blades are blah. I used one for my first shave with the GEM Damaskeene razor and it was kinda OK. Second shave, it didn't seem like it wanted to cut the whiskers. I changed it out with a GEM stainless blade and it cut through everything effortlessly. Maybe it was a bad blade, maybe it was me, I don't know.

The Treet branded blades are carbon steel 3 facet edge, made in the AccuTec factory in Verona VA, the former American Safety Razor factory and the Edgewell Personal Care Company’s Medical and Industrial Products Division after that. . The TREET blades were/are a private-label production made for Edgewell Personal Care which owns rights to the Treet trademark I guess and was the former owner of the Verona, VA factory. Edgewell also owns SCHICK, WILKINSON SWORD, PERSONNA, CREMO, as well as other trademarks.  AccuTec acquired the rights to use the trademarks PERSONNA and GEM when they purchased the assets of Edgewell Personal Care Company’s Medical and Industrial Products Division in September of 2015. I've used the Treet and Personna GEM branded carbon steel blades and I can't tell any difference and I don't see why there would be since they are all carbon steel 3 facet edge blades made in the same factory and look identical. The CVS private label blades were also made there.
Some people will still swear up and down that, there is a difference between the brands, just like some people will say carbon steel blades are smoother shaving...whatever! They can believe anything they want.

I'm on the same page as you, carbon steel blades are OK. but their sharpness doesn't last even if you keep them dry and free from rust. The Personna GEM 3 facet edge stainless steel blades are sharper and smoother shaving and their edge lasts for a lot more shaves.
