Thanks Jim, wish it was in better shape but a good practice one.

I had an unmentionable similar to what that started life as in simular shape. I sanded the top till it was smooth with progressively finer grit sandpaper then polished it to a near mirror finish. You could do the same with that one.

I might eventually but got a cheap unmentionable with a broken tooth on it's way to me. That will be my focus to make it shine as a SHaDE razor.

You are all Heathens!

Vintage is sacred, once they're gone, they're gone.

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

You really should read and get caught up. Mine had a broken off tooth and was why I could afford it. I made it usable and eye pleasing to me  Tongue

Teeth are easy to fix.

Usually I would agree with that. In this case I am kind of not on board. I like the idea of turning a unmentionable into a real razor. There are plenty of them out there. Kind of like turning a classic into a custom car.
Happy shaves to ya!

I wanted to try making one after seeing all the posts. I used a Dollar Tree $ 1.25 unmentionable that was messed up about 6 months ago. It turned out to be a great shaving razor, kind of aggressive. I have a stainless steel handle I use with it now.
