Cool shave. I shaved with the Gillette Techmatic when it was new on the scene. I didn't like it then, but I have one now that I really like. I haven't used the Schick version though. Razor Emporium had a video in the Techmatic recently. Check it out:

I also have a Techmatic in the stable, i think it was advertised as being used by Astronauts like Mike Collins of Apollo 11, Schick jumped Gillette as their cartridge fits into the Techmatic, however, the Techmatic adjuster does not work with the Schick cart. The Gillette cart does not fit into the Schick handle.
The Schick is said to be a smoother shave and the blades reportedly stayed sharper for longer, it was supposedly cheaper to buy. I find them similar in the shave. 
I know the Band razors have a rep for being rough, i find both of mine smooth and comfortable, i use a similar shave angle as using an injector razor finding the cutting angle coming down from the "Cap" rather than up from the safety bar.
